Fish Tales by Wes Bogner is a series of artworks employing aquatic themes, visual puns and word play.

    Artist Statement:
I enjoy provoking thought through laughter. I have always enjoyed the outdoors and was taught to canoe, camp and fish by my father. Fishing has taken me to beautiful places, created some of my best memories, provided meals and campfire camaraderie I still share.

Fish Tales is a conceptual series begun 30 years ago using metaphorically juxtaposed elements of reality to create an absurd satire of humanity. In a fish-eat-fish world it doesn't matter if you're a vegetarian (but it makes you taste different).

I have found fish are a perfect vehicle for expressing my inherent peculiar view of the world. While trained in traditional visual arts media, (lithography, serigraphy, intaglio and painting), I continue a mixed-media approach to my work, incorporating new digital techniques with the experience of traditional painting and drawing methods.
