This book club will feature "Death’s Imperfect Witness" by Pam Leonard. Doctor Zoe Lawrence, a resident at a major Minneapolis hospital, is called in as a forensic expert at a brutal murder of a teenage girl. As she helps the detectives pick through the events that lead to the girl’s death, Zoe also has to navigate through hospital politics, a burgeoning romance, and someone from her past who wants her silent . . . and dead. This is Pam Leonard’s first novel, and she will attend the meeting to discuss this book with us. The author does warn that this book is a bit “hard-boiled – just in case you have any especially sensitive readers. That said, I don't believe that mysteries and thrillers should shy away from dealing head-on with tough social or personal issues.” Refreshments will be served.
