This Book Club will featue "Office Hours" by C. Frederick Vick. The author describes his book as “loosely based on stories I heard from colleagues and students during my office hours as a professor. No one should hunt for themselves in these tales as they are exaggerated, changed and modified so as to be unrecognizable to the teller of the tale. Friendship, differing roles, romance and tragedy are all part of the story.” Chuck Vick wrote this book for a variety of reasons (he thought it would be a fun way to spend retirement, he always wanted to be a writer), but particularly to give voice to the anguish so many of the female students expressed about their troubled relationships with men. He hopes he has done them justice. Chuck will attend the meeting to discuss his book with us. Caution: the book deals with some sensitive subjects and contains some graphic details. Refreshments will be served.
