In his youth, Chet Baker was described as the "James Dean of jazz." Biographer James Gavin might argue he was really more like its Elvis. Baker brought jazz into the mainstream and made it cool.

This performance is based on Gavin's biography of the jazz giant and features CSB/SJU's own Dale White on trumpet with jazz vocalist Spider Saloff. Gavin provides narrated excerpts of Deep in a Dream - The Long Night of Chet Baker, his biography that traces Baker's life from his early triumphs to his tragic death.

Enjoy this performance in true cabaret style, with drink service throughout.
