A Doll's House
December 4-December 9, 2012
Add Review/Comment
Written by Henrik Ibsen in 1879 and influenced by real events, A Doll’s House poses the question of a woman’s place in society. Upon its first presentation, the show was greeted with criticism for being scandalous, and certain performances were closed. Director Vladimir Rovinsky explains, “We’re trying to find the source of scandal in our show.” A Doll’s House addresses issues still relevant to our time, and employs an abstract set, creating a contrast of historical and realist perspectives intended to open up the central conflict to larger and more diverse interpretations.
