    Artist Statement: Randy D. Burrows
The art I make is an intuitive expression of my Bahamian culture. The landscape of my art is ripe with vibrant color, texture and movement. The work I create represents a passion for expressing music, ancestory, folklore and most importantly making images that inspire a positive reaction. My work portrays a motif of Bahamian flora, fish, sea shells, portraits and Junkanoo. I like to paint asymetrical compositions in acrylic paints and mixed medium. I enjoy making concept sketches and refining the best sketch into a good drawing to establish tonality. Its enjoyable to have the freedom to apply color as a decorative element that accents the structure of the piece. I consider art a success when details captivate the eye. When the viewer enters my visual space on the wall I’d like to think of the experience as a journey. The work of an artist is never done. Hope you enjoy.
