In this year's first First Monday New Media Series event (held on the first Wednesday of February), we will host visiting performers Linda Chatterton (flute) and Jesse Langen (guitar), as well as composers Michael Wittgraf and SCSU professor Scott Miller. Chatterton and Langen, members of the Minnesota new music ensemble Ensemble 61, will premier two works written for them by Wittgraf and Miller. Miller's The Frost Performs its Secret Ministry and Wittgraf's Semblance are for flute, guitar and electronics. Chatterton and Langen will also perform a work by Minnesota composer Edie Hill, and discuss working with living composers, premiering new music and classically trained performers integrating electronics into their repertoire.
