Still searching for that perfect Christmas gift? Look no further! The Stearns History Museum is hosting a book signing by Chef Amy Thielen from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday December 20th. She will be signing copies of her new cookbook, The New Midwestern Table: 200 Heartland Recipes, which offers a fresh take on Midwestern dishes she grew up with, as well as local gems from across the region.

A Minnesota native, Thielen is a professional chef who spent seven years cooking professionally in New York City under David Bouley, Daniel Boulod, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and Shea Gallante. Since returning to Minnesota in 2008, she also has written for the Star Tribune, and national publications Men’s Journal and Saveur and has won the James Beard Award for her journalism. Thielen is the host of the new Food Network cooking show “Heartland Table.”
