The Lysander Piano Trio, 2012 Concert Artists Guild Competition winner, was founded in 2009 while the players were graduate students at The Julliard School. Only two months after its founding the Trio was selected to represent Julliard in a special concert in Mexico City. Since then, they have performed at many prestigious halls around the country, and have been a standout at other competitions. This past April, world-renowned violinist Midori performed in St. Cloud as the special finale to our concert season. As the second part of our award from Midori's Partners in Performance foundation, she has personally chosen this exciting emerging trio to perform this season for our community.

    Concert Program:
Haydn: Piano Trio in E major
Ciupinski: The Black Mirror (written for the Lysander Trio)
Ben-Haim: Variations on a Hebrew Melody
Mendelssohn: Piano Trio in D minor

The Lysander Piano Trio’s appearance is made possible in part by the non-profit organization Partners in Performance. Founded by Midori, Partners in Performance aims to keep chamber music alive and accessible in the heartland of America. More information is available at

This organization is funded, in part, by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Central Minnesota Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Additional funding is provided United Arts of Central Minnesota.
