Pianist and St. Cloud native Keith Kirchoff will present The Electro-Acoustic Piano, a concert of music for piano and electronics, at 7.30 on April 15, 2015 in the SCSU Performing Arts Center Ruth Gant Recital Hall. This concert will feature seven works written for (and by) Kirchoff, including a work by SCSU Professor Scott L. Miller. The concert is presented as part of the Department of Music New Music New Media series.

Kirchoff has become an important figure in the world of electroacoustic music for his dedication to commissioning, touring, and recording piano music that involves electronic sound. While at SCSU, Kirchoff will also work with students, addressing issues of composing and performing electro-acoustic piano music, as well as making a career of performing it. Kirchoff will be in Minnesota the week of April 12 to present a showcase concert for the American Composers Forum on April 17 at the Landmark Center's Weyerhauser Auditorium, and to record several of the works on his program at MPR's Maud Moon Weyerhaeuser Recording Studios.
