This a cappella quintet embodies the rich choral tradition of its hometown of Leipzig. A perfect blend of sound, precision, lightness and wit are the hallmarks of Calmus, now one of the most successful vocal groups in Germany. The seamless blend of these five voices lends itself to the almost limitless range of music, from renaissance and baroque masters to contemporary repertoire. Calmus conveys everything with great respect and a sense of joy.

“…the singers bring tremendous character and musical depth to their interpretations…transcends the language of the lyrics.” – Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

“The group held the audience...spellbound with its artistry.” – The Washington Post

"…the Calmus Ensemble shifts from smoldering passions to reverent simplicity; the journey through sound and time is quixotic and fantastic.” – Choral Journal
