CHARLIE SQUARED WITH GIN – A TRIPLE BILL FEATURING:

Charlie Parr | Ginstrings | Charlie Roth
That’s right, KVSC 88.1 is bringing to St. Cloud three great musicians for a Spring Blowout on Wednesday, May 25 starting at 7:30pm.  And what a great line-up it is:

CHARLIE PARR (9:15pm–10:15pm)  An easily confused and very shy individual, Charlie Parr has been traveling around singing his songs ever since leaving Austin Minnesota in the 1980’s in search of Spider John Koerner, whom he found about 100 miles north at the Viking Bar one Sunday night. The experience changed his life, made him more or less unemployable, and brings us to now: 13 recordings, 250 shows a year or more, 200,000 miles on a well broke in Kia, and a nasty fear of heights. Resonator fueled folk songs from Duluth Minnesota.

GINSTRINGS (8:15-9pm) are a six member string band from Minnesota arranged as a traditional bluegrass group, but not limited too. Containing members from diverse musical backgrounds, rich warm harmonies accompany their tasteful melodies and imaginative rhythms. Ginstrings composes original music that all listeners will enjoy. With intriguing tunes and a passionate performance, they are sure to resonate with your soul.

CHARLIE ROTH: (7:30pm – 8pm)  is a professional entertainer and singer songwriter with five solo CDs to his credit and countless gigs under his belt. He has recorded with the likes of Sam Bush, Michael Bland, Bruce McCabe, and many others. His latest CD, ‘Broken Ground,’ has garnered him much praise among his contemporaries and air play across the USA Canada and Europe.
