American-Israeli poet Michael Dickel will read from his collection of poetry, War Surrounds Us, while surrounded by the Surreal Deal, an exhibit by artist Jerry Ingeman. Jerry's work graces the cover of the poetry collection and will be on display. Jerry and Michael might chat a bit about art, poetry, and the meaning of life. Or not. Book will be available for purchase and autograph.
Michael will also read one or two works from his forthcoming book, The Palm Reading after The Toad's Garden.

More about Michael Dickel and War Surrounds Us:

A few additional details about me: I used to live in Minneapolis for many years — I graduated from St. Louis Park High School, have three degrees from the University of Minnesota, where I also taught at both the Twin Cities and Morris Campuses over the years. My last job before moving to Israel was at Macalester College. I’ve done a number of poetry readings in Minnesota, including U of MN-Morris and St. Cloud University-MNSCU in 2012 (after I’d moved to Israel). I’ve also read at Poet’s House and Cornelia Street Cafe, two well-known poetry venues in New York City, among other places around the U.S. and Israel. In June 2015, I performed in Salerno, Italy, as well. I’ve had over 200 poems, short stories, and essays published in a wide variety of print and online literary journals, as well as photographs and digital art.

additional musical entertainment will be provided by Dean Severson
