    Artist bio:
John George describes himself as "not a hero, not an artist. People associate what I do and call me an artist, but I'm not familiar with that." His grandmother once called him a "rare bird". Indeed, John George's work is a unique and exciting experience for the audience. Each piece of work is a personal journey for the individual viewer.
In true abstract expressionist form, John George never plans a painting out preferring it arrive organically and spontaneous. In this manner his works are seldom ever titled as well, preferring the viewer not have any preconceived ideas from a title.
In a self deprecating tone John George will tell you that his use of found materials such as old paints, house paints, re-used canvases, etc., isn't because he's being environmentally friendly, but because he's a poor artist who uses the materials that he finds. However, his adept ability to transform his found mediums to thick, rich landscapes of imagination speak more on his need to create and share his pursuit of art over anything else. As John George himself says, "I paint for the viewer".
