Quai D'Orsay: Tournées Film Festival - French Films on U.S. Campus

Presented by College of Saint Benedict and St. John's University Department of Languages and Cultures at Saint John's University Art Center

The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University Department of Languages and Cultures is hosting a six-week "Tournées Film Festival – French Films on U.S. Campus," which is an organization that brings French cinema to college campuses in the United States. "Quai D’Orsay" (2013), produced by Bertrand Tavernier, is a political comedy set in Paris. The main character, Arthur Vlaminck, is hired by a prestigious diplomat and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexandre Taillard de Worms. Arthur is hired to write speeches for Alexandre, but can never quite figure out just what exactly he wants from him. Meanwhile, Arthur is also caught up in the "petty office squabbling of his territorial colleagues and their bids for power."

"Tournées Film Festival is made possible with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the U.S., the Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée (CNC), the French American Cultural Fund, Florence Gould Foundation and Highbrow Entertainment.
Co-sponsored by the CSB/SJU Languages and Cultures Department, French Club, Film Studies, the Jay Phillips Center for Interfaith Learning, Peace Studies, Gender Studies and the Eugene J. McCarthy Center for Public Policy and Civil Engagement"
