Monty Python's SPAMALOT

Presented by Buffalo Community Theater at Buffalo Senior High School PAC

Jul 20 - Jul 28, 2018

Winner of 3 Tony Awards and 14 nominations, including best musical in 2005, this musical comedy is adapted from the 1975 movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail and is a parody of the Arthurian legend. There are lots of differences from the movie, but some familiar aspects too, including some memorable musical numbers. Featuring a cast where some actors play several characters, there is a lot of room for flexibility, which adds to the humor and is testimony to both the movie and the original Broadway show. Whether audiences are familiar with Monty Python’s shows. or the Holy Grail movie, there are laughs galore in what has been described as a show with phenomenal speed, wit and cheek which will leave audiences weak with laughter. Directed by Dave Metcalf Music Direction by Mark Nelson

Main Series For the first concert of the 2018-19 season, legendary Québécois button accordionist Yves Lambert (a founding member of La Bottine Souriant) and his Trio bandmates Oliver Rondeau (guitar) and Tommy Gauthier (violin, mandolin, feet) bring us the music of French Canada--or Ireland or Italy, or Appalachia (the last crossed with something that sounds suspiciously like rap. In French. Don't take our word for it--watch the first video below.) This is literal foot-stomping, dancing-in-your-seat music with which to kick off the new season. Website: http://yveslambert.com/en/

Sep 20, 2018

Main Series Singer-songwriter Chuck Brodsky's bio is a familiar one: a quarter-century on the road, playing venues and festivals across North America and Europe, storytelling and singing about current events and places and relationships. What may be somewhat less familiar is his special interest in baseball--not just the occasional tune about the Great American Pastime but two entire albums of "Baseball Ballads." The baseball season will be wrapping up by then, but Chuck's songs and stories are perennials. Website: https://www.chuckbrodsky.com/

Such groups include Lavaanya, a dance troupe from the Twin Cities that brings traditional Indian folk dance fused with contemporary music and Bollywood style. A supervised Children's Art area provides rewarding and meaningful art projects. Our food court offers high-quality hand-made meals and treats. Another popular feature at Millstream is the Book End, a writers' tent featuring the works of local authors and poets. Festival-goers can also watch demonstrations of antique typewriters, paper-making or book-binding. Another popular feature at the festival is our vintage auto and tractor exhibit. But our…
