2023 High School Juried Art Exhibition Presented by Paramount Center for the Arts at Online/Virtual Space Apr 12 - May 31, 2023 The Paramount and its sponsors are committed to hosting a meaningful experience that showcases student work from across Central Minnesota during the 2023 High School Juried Art Exhibition. This program is designed to complement the work of area teachers by providing students with the opportunity to visualize themselves as artists, explore ways to talk about their work, and to participate in an arts-based experience among peers. UNSTOPPABLE SPRING SHOWCASE 2023 Presented by Paramount Center for the Arts at Paramount Theatre May 03 - May 31, 2023 Annually the Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota takes center stage at the Paramount as we host the Spring Showcase. In addition, to performances by students, two galleries will feature their artwork. Chalk Camp for Kids Presented by 510 Art Lab at 510 Art Lab Jun 01, 2023 Instructor: Allison Olstad, artist at Chalk in Sauk We begin the class getting to know each other, sharing some of my work along with works and discussion of where chalk art is displayed professionally. We introduce students to working with soft chalk pastels. This instruction includes various blending techniques, using less chalk and spreading it into a large area, getting comfortable using this medium and surface, how to start a piece, and more. Students are also exposed to a variety of methods to use a photo as a reference and transfer it to a large piece on the sidewalk. We demonstrate and practice the grid method along with some other point of reference options. Students practice various techniques, choose an inspiration photo, and then get started on their own 3x4 foot masterpieces. Lemonade Concert and Art Fair Presented by St. Cloud State University-SCSU- Department of Campus Involvement at SCSU- Performing Arts Center -Arena Stage Jun 22, 2023 The Lemonade Concert and Art Fair is one of St. Cloud State University’s best-known campus traditions and annually marks the opening of St. Cloud’s Granite City Days community-wide event. In 2023, the Lemonade Concert and Art Fair will be celebrating its 50th anniversary as being one of SCSU and St. Cloud’s greatest traditions. The 50th annual Lemonade Concert and Art Fair is set for June 22 on the SCSU campus, with the art fair to take place from 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. followed by the Granite City Days Opening Ceremony from 7-7:30 p.m. in Ritsche Auditorium before a performance featuring the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in Ritsche Auditorium.
