Now here’s an instrumental combination you won’t hear all that often at a folk concert: fiddle and cello. Nevertheless, veteran Scots fiddler Alasdair Fraser and California-bred, Juilliard-trained cellist Natalie Haas have been recording and gigging together for two decades, “restoring,” as Fraser’s website puts it, “the wee fiddle and big fiddle partnership that
flourished in eighteenth century Scotland.” What was old is new again, so come hear the continuing reunion. Websites:
