Applique with Paint to Create a Quilt

You will draw or trace a pattern or applique-like picture on special muslin with sizing on the surface. You will use a product called Inktense Pencils. They are used like colored pencils to color in detailed parts of the design on fabric. When you brush water on the colored areas, the pencil turns to paint.

Supplies are provided by the Art Lab. Resources and videos available for further projects.

What to bring:

If you have a line drawing of flowers, animal, coloring page or any object you would like to use to paint.

If you have a light box, bring that to the first session. Not mandatory but helpful.

On the second session you will need your sewing machine or sign up to use one of the Lab’s machines.

About 1/2 yard of backing fabric and batting will be enough to sandwich the painted top.
