Mansour will present this captivating refugee story of resilience at 7:30 p.m. April 13
In the play, Mansour revisits her childhood memories of the 1991 Somali Civil War as she explores war from an idyllic viewpoint of a 7-year-old girl. The performance layers poetry, puppetry, video and multiple narratives from community interviews to confront the violent history of war with humor and healing.
The program is designed to build knowledge and appreciation for arts and culture with roots in Muslim majority societies.
