Van Cliburn International Piano Competition - Gold Medal Winner

Widely recognized as one of the world’s most important piano competitions, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition brings together 30 international competitors (ages 18-30) once every four years and is dedicated to the discovery of the finest players in the world.

This performance features the 2017 gold medal winner – Yukwon Sunwoo!

Sunwoo has been hailed for “his total command over the instrument and its expressiveness” (San Francisco Examiner). A powerful and virtuosic performer, he also, in his own words, “strives to reach for the truth and pure beauty in music,” and hopes to convey those fundamental emotions to audiences.
