Carie Essig, executive director of the Stearns History Museum, will share a bit of her Minnesota story and provide insight into how she thinks about history, including its place in the community and why it’s so darn important to study it.
She also will update participants on her Stearns County historical discoveries. The program takes place at 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 8.
A historian by profession and in heart, Essig helped develop museum programs at the YMCA of the Rockies in Colorado before her arrival in St. Cloud. She also oversaw operations of two museums at YMCA that are 70 miles apart and separated by Rocky Mountain National Park and the Continental divide. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree from Northern Illinois University.
The Breakfast Club program is free for Stearns History Museum members and $7 for nonmembers. Rolls and refreshments are served. The Museum is located at 235 South 33rd Avenue in St. Cloud. Please join us for this interesting and informative presentation from the Museum’s new executive director.
