Seexeng’s journey is one from the land of the Mekong to the Mississippi. “Connecting the Broken Threads of the Hmong Paj Ntaub” captures his inspiration flowing from the meeting of two cultures and the evolution of the Hmong Paj Ntaub, known in a second variant as the Hmong Story Cloth. Seexeng was born in the high hills of Laos, raised in the dense refugee camp of northern Thailand, and was raised in the ghetto part of town in Minneapolis. “Some say living with the collision of two cultures is a burden, but I find it as a blessing in disguise.” describes how Seexeng approaches the broken threads of his journey in a variety of art mediums including painting, thread work and sculpture. Seexeng is a Hmong artist educator living and working in the Twin Cities.
