SCSU will host a Halloween themed event for kids of all ages. The SCSU Wind Ensemble will play as part of the event.
The St. Cloud State Department of Music, Lindgren Child Care Center and Veterans Resource Center invite the St. Cloud community to join them for the Halloween SpooktacularFamily Festival and Band Concerton Thursday, October 25 from 5:30-7:00 PM in Ritsche Auditorium. Children in costume and their families are invited to pre-concert activities that begin at 5:30 PM in the lobby of Ritsche Auditorium. Volunteers will be on hand to demonstrate musical instruments, give out Halloween treats and play games. The St. Cloud State Wind Ensemble concert will begin at 6:30 PM. Admission is free.
The concert will run about 30 minutes and will include both fun and spooky music such as The Quest for Davy Jones Lockerby Minnesota composer Tim Smith. The program will also include music from your favorite Disney movies, a kid’s costume parade with free giveaways, a candy corn counting contest, children’s stories and rhymes.
The St. Cloud State Wind Ensemble is a select group of 40 performers, mostly St. Cloud State University music majors led by conductor Catharine Bushman. Admission is free.
Parking is available on campus in the 4thStreet Parking Ramp (516 4thAve. So.) for $1.50/hour.
Ritsche Auditorium is a short walk east from the ramp behind the Atwood Memorial Center.
