Civil War Roundtable, Adam Katz "Baseball and the Civil War"

Presented by Stearns History Museum at Stearns History Museum

Monthly meetings of the group during the school year feature speakers and a question and answer session. The presentations are free to the public, but membership to Central Minnesota Civil War Roundtable is available. Membership to the group is $40 for individuals and $50 for couples.

Adam Katz has been in education since 2001, and a special education teacher since 2005. He loves learning about American history; so much so, that when he lived in Maryland and Virginia from 2005-2010 he would travel to a historic site three weekends each month for five years. In 2014, in Minnesota, he presented a TED Talk of how to teach students with engaging lessons using multiple learning styles including auditory, visual, and kinesthetic methods. He recently published his first book, teaching students how to capitalize and punctuate sentences in his own unique style by writing 272 sentences with each sentence having 3-5 words of alliteration. He gives Civil War lectures on the Battle of Ball’s Bluff, and now his newest lecture, BASEBALL and the CIVIL WAR. Having grown up in Milwaukee, Adam is a HUGE Brewers fan and desperately hopes they win their first World Series in his life time.
