“Paul is accomplished on any instrument that boasts a set of strings: dulcimer, fiddle, cello, banjo, guitar, mandolin, and likely some I haven’t even heard of.” –Mark Munger, Cloquet River Press
Main Series
Paul Imholte is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and singer. He is best known as a hammered dulcimer player, but he is also on a first-name basis with the fiddle, mandolin, guitar and banjo, and has been seen in the company of the viola, cello, Autoharp, harmonica, jawharp, and spoons. (Forks and butter-knives at mealtimes only, though.) Paul writes and performs music that reflects Central Minnesota: his songs deal with old barns, tractors, kids, migrant workers, rutabagas, reluctant Springs, smoking horses, and ghosts in the attic. He also plays with Ring of Kerry, The Tarveys, and the Cristina Seaborn Trio.
