Musically sprouted from the blend of American folk, country, rock-n-roll, and blues, Erik Koskinen and his top-shelf band realize a sound that is distinctive and fresh while familiar and classic. Koskinen’s albums are a lyrical and musical metaphor of American’s theaters of war, of history, of relationships, and of the reflections in the mirror. Knowing but not didactic, Koskinen channels the ways of Whitman and reverently enters the anthology of uniquely crafted wry songs with the likes of Woody Guthrie and Ry Cooder while speaking as plainly as your neighbor.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune calls Koskinen “the real deal” and “the best country songwriter in Minnesota.” After releasing Cruising Paradise as an EP in 2017, Koskinen has added three new songs and pressed to vinyl for release in 2018. Cruising Paradise follows Koskinen’s first three albums, America Theatre (2014), Live At the Real Phonic Radio Hour (2015), and Keep It to Yourself (2010) all released on his own Real-Phonic Records label.

Minnesota band Six Mile Grove is celebrating the release of their 7th album “Million Birds” January 26, 2019. This much anticipated album celebrates the band’s 20th year together, and contemplates the humble human challenges of work, life and family. Notable songs include “Patrol Cars,” co-written with singer/songwriter Matthew Ryan, the moody ballad “Shame on us,” about the risks of love, and “Wage a War,” a gritty Lumineer-esque song wondering about the right time to surrender, and the right time to stand and fight.

There is metered street parking and metered lots near our location on 5th Ave, and next to House of Pizza restaurant. Meters are monitored until 6pm Mon-Fri and FREE on Sat and Sun. **PARKING UPDATE** There is NO PARKING on either side of 5th Avenue between West St. Germain and 1st Street S AFTER 8pm on Thursday’s, Friday’s and Saturday’s. This is a new rule so watch for signage. Most vehicles are towed promptly at 8pm. Please be aware and if you have questions, ask a bartender for more information.
