The Tannahill Weavers are pioneers of the Celtic music revival, the band that brought the highland bagpipes indoors and married them to the fiddle-flute-whistle-guitar lineup of the Scottish ceilidh band.
The Tannahill Weavers have been at it for fifty years now, playing all over the world. We’re enormously pleased to welcome them back to our stage for our season-opening concert, where you have a rare chance to see them very close up. (Bagpipes!)
“Over the years the Tannies have been trailblazers for Scottish music, and their tight harmonies and powerful, inventive arrangements have won them fans from all over the world. The band is one of a kind.” –The Desert Shamrack, Scottsdale, AZ
“Scotland ‘s Tannahill Weavers play acoustic instruments, but the atmosphere at their shows is electric. The quartet is as tight and as versatile as any band in the Celtic music revival. They can summon rock ‘n’ roll intensity or haunting introspection.” –Boston Globe
