Dripping Trees

Presented by Paramount Center for the Arts at Paramount Visual Arts Center

Explore the beautiful effects of gelatin printing plates on a variety of papers, which you will collage onto canvas and combine with acrylic paints and mixed media mediums to create your own unique piece!

Materials List:
Stretched canvas: one 24”x 30” or 24”x 36” or 24”x 24”
Stretched canvas: one of a smaller size 11”x 14”, 12”x 12” or 12”x 16”
Come with both canvases coated with white gesso, dry and ready to paint on. Brush marks are okay. “Gallery wrapped” canvas in great, you have a finished painting that doesn’t need framing.
Brushes: made for acrylic paints, synthetic and/or natural bristles. Assorted flat, round and
filbert in 1”and 2” sizes.
Paint: good quality acrylic paint, middle to professional-grade in a full range of colors. Include phthalo green.

Not craft acrylics.
Medium size tube of zinc white. (Zinc white is necessary as it’s more transparent than titanium white and that’s important to this painting.)
The transparent fluid acrylic paint used in this painting will be provided and the cost is included in the class price. If you have some bring them but the price is the same.
Roll of paper towels
Two old terry cloth towels: one bath size, one hand towel size.
Plastic tub for water: like an empty ice cream pail or plastic bowl that doesn’t tip over.
4ml plastic sheeting (from the hardware store). Comes in 25’ roll. Bring the roll.
Scissors and palette knife
Baking sheet: (cookie sheet) cheap one from the dollar store, makes a great palette!
Roll of masking tape
About six sheets of regular copy paper.
Your sketchbook or notebook to take notes in.
