Guest Ensemble: POPEBAMA

Presented by Saint Cloud State University School of the Arts at SCSU Performing Arts Center- Ruth Gant Recital Hall

On Tuesday, October 15thSCSU Department of Music welcomes Guest Ensemble, Popebama in the Performing Arts Center Recital Hall at 7:00pm.

Popebama is doing something completely unique in the world of new music combining fresh, experimental sounds with high energy, virtuosic performances. Known for elaborate, visually stimulating stage setups, Erin Rogers and Dennis Sullivan push the limits of the human instrument experience, applying saxophone, percussion, electronics, and theatre, to fully notated, highly rehearsed works, keeping audiences on their toes while thoroughly entertaining

A highlight at the 2017 New Music Gathering, 2018 NASA Biennial, and 2019 Yarn/Wire Stone residency, musicians and non-musicians alike have responded overwhelmingly, as Popebama brings a level of performance virtuosity, visual wonderment, and theatrical flair to an unconventional sound world.
