Clay Workshop for Art Educators

Presented by ISD 728 Regional Center and Paramount Theatre Education and Outreach Program at Paramount Visual Arts Center

Art Educators are invited to attend two workshops with nationally acclaimed clay artists Kathy King and Julia Galloway. In this two part workshop, King and Galloway will give presentations, demonstrations and hands on projects that focus on promoting conversation, visual narrative and idea development within the classroom.

May 12th from 4:00 – 6:00pm: Art Educators slide lecture
During this first workshop King and Galloway will present a slide-lecture about surface decoration addressing ideas of narrative, storytelling and historical reference.

May 14th from  4:00– 7:00pm: Art Educators: Surface Decoration
In the second class there will be demonstration and hands on experience of a range of surface techniques including sgraffito and print transfer techniques using slips and underglazes intended to be fired with translucent glazes.
