a seminar-like mentorship program for area high school students through and at Art in Motion facilitated by Su Legatt
Su Legatt will facilitate a seminar-like mentorship program for area high school students through and at Art in Motion. The program will include one-on-one mentor meetings with Su, group discussion, group critique, art technique exploration as well as artistic professional development and entrepreneurship skill-building, with the ultimate goal of producing work for an art exhibition at Art in Motion in May of 2022. The exhibition and discussion will center on the theme of public/private identity as it relates to the artist and the portrait as well as how we present ourselves and our identity to the public through various media including social media. By working with a professional artist/art professor, interviewing guest artists and curators, and connecting with a cohort of fellow artists with a common goal of putting on an art exhibition at Art in Motion, students will hone life-long skills including creative dialogue, collaboration, and professional practice to serve them in their future as creatives and makers.
This program is open to all creative or curious high school students in the surrounding area of Holdingford, MN. (including but not limited to Holdingford High School, Upsala High School, Albany High School, ROCORI High School, Melrose High school, Apollo High School, Tech High School, Saukrapids-Rice Highschool, Sartell Highschool, Royalton highschool, Homeschool, Etc.)
