Observational Drawing Bootcamp

Presented by Paramount Theatre Education and Outreach Program at Paramount Visual Arts Center

Learn, understand and apply the elements and principles of drawing in this class highlighting the traditional techniques of observational drawing. Artist Christopher Zlatic will guide the class through a series of exercises designed to help enhance observational skills and improve hand eye coordination to increase your confidence in the artistic process and self-guided practice. Develop an understanding of how drawing fundamentals can improve a myriad of artistic practices!

Observational Drawing Materials List
Newsprint Pad 18”x24”, 50 Sheets

Fine Drawing Pad – 70-80 lb 18”x24”, 30 Sheets

Willow Charcoal (assorted)

Compressed Charcoal (assorted)

Graphite Drawing Pencil Assortment: HB, 2B, 4B, 6B (other weights if desired)

Graphite Stump

White Conte Sticks (White “charcoal”)

Kneaded Eraser

Vinyl/White Eraser or Pink Pearl

Artist Chamois

Exacto Knife 24”x26”

Drawing board optional. Boards will be provided for use in the classroom but we recommended you have one for your own use outside of class
