Jacob Laxen, a former entertainment and food writer for the St. Cloud Times, will talk about his book, Central Minnesota Beer: A History, at the 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, Breakfast Club.
Beer has been an integral part of Central Minnesota politics, business, and culture for almost two centuries. As a beer enthusiast, Laxen visited Central Minnesota communities in search of good beer and stories. He will share those accounts and the history of brewing in Central Minnesota during his presentation.
Laxen covered the food and drink industry for the St. Cloud Times from 2014-16 and later for the Coloradan in Fort Collins, Colo. In addition, he wrote craft and domestic beer pieces for national publications. Laxen moved to radio in 2019, working as a digital managing editor at Townsquare Media in Fort Collins. He now works as a digital campaign manager for Townsquare Ignite.
