Creation: Sounds of Nature – Students will perform music inspired by the sounds portrayed or inspired by nature that will span across different eras including Baroque and living composers.
Central Minnesota Youth Orchestra (CMYO) students prepared for a season to perform musical works inspired by nature. This Fall’s theme, CREATION: SOUNDS OF NATURE, will be related to sounds of nature or the composer’s interpretation of the sensation of nature’s environment. Some of the fun nature sounds simulated will include bird calls, rain, and waves from the sea. Music selections will include movements from the Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi.
In addition to learning and performing music that is inspired by nature, CMYO collaborated with Schmitt Music to bring in Lux String Quartet to give a clinician and a performance for the CMYO program during an October weekend rehearsal.
Due to COVID, the program will have two performances that will include Cadenza and Intermezzo ensemble a 3:00 pm performance, and the Encore ensemble at a 6:45 pm performance.
