This month at the Stearns History Museum’s “Whippersnapper Hour,” we will dive into “The Way We Play!”
These days, a lot of toys and games for children are driven by technology. But before the days of Nintendo (and even Atari), how did children play? What sort of toys did they use? Did they make them themselves? Did they even have time to play? All of these questions will be answered and more, and of course, the children will get the chance to try out some old toys and games: Victorian era hoops and graces, hopscotch, 20th century board games, and they will make a corn husk doll or thaumatrope to take home!
