United Way of Central Minnesota will host the 2022 Llama Llama Read-A-Rama literacy event on Tuesday, May 10, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at the St. Cloud Great River Regional Library (GRRL). This in-person event is co-sponsored by community partners that include GRRL, No Limits Painting, Minnwest Bank and Thrivent Financial.

The Llama Llama Read-A-Rama literacy event is geared towards youth aged 0- to 10-years-old along with their core caregivers, friends and families. This year’s theme celebrates Llama Llama’s adventures around our great big, beautiful world and participants will enjoy story time with guest readers, engage in crafts and activities, meet a live llama, visit with local celebrities, have a healthy snack and participate in a coloring contest.

Event organizers seek to feature a variety of stories that resonate with the diverse youth and core caregivers who make up the Central Minnesota community. Partner for Student Success, the education initiative of United Way of Central Minnesota, supports core caregivers as they develop skills that create literacy-rich environments for all youth. Planners and co-sponsors will support positive engagement among attendees by offering opportunities for them to participate in event activities that nurture literacy, learning and healthy development.
