After 32 seasons as artistic director and principal conductor, Axel Theimer, founder of the Amadeus Chamber Symphony, will be sharing his love for music making one more time with the orchestra and audience. He retired from the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University Music Department retired in the Spring of 2021 after leading the CSB/SJU choirs for 52 years. Choosing Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony – in celebration of Schubert’s 225th birthday – is not accidental: despite the upcoming changes, the Amadeus Chamber Symphony is not “Finished” and will continue to delight Central Minnesota with literature featuring music for Chamber Orchestra as is evident by the program for this concert. The orchestra is also saying Good-Bye and Thank You to Marion Judish who has been the much cherished Concertmaster for this group of exceptional musicians since the founding of the orchestra.
