Carving Owls

Carving Owls

Presented by Paramount Center for the Arts at Paramount Technical Site

Discover the incredible world of woodcarving in this class exploring carving, pyrography, and wood finishes with Ken Ramler! Ken will guide students through (safely!) carving a 6” to 8” barn or barred owl from butternut wood. Students will then learn how to add details using pyrography, or woodburning, an element that will not only add character but also life to your piece. Finally, Ken will walk you through the steps of successfully completing your piece with wood finishes.

Instructor will supply wood and finishes. Options for mounting will be also covered.

Tool List- please bring the following tools to class:
Smaller to Medium Wood Carving Gouges
V-Tools
Carving Knives
No sanding required.
