This is a film festival celebrating French and Francophone films throughout February and March that is presented by the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University’s Languages and Cultures Department.
Throughout the months of February and March, CSB/SJU’s Languages and Cultures Department will be showing various French and Francophone films. The Tournées Film Festival consists of six films. All films will be shown at CSB/SJU campuses and are free to attend!
“Happening” will be shown at Saint John’s University’s Alcuin Library in room 170 at 6:30pm on March 1st!
The third film in the series is Happening which premiered in 2021 and was directed by Audrey Diwan. It is based on the novel of the same name by Annie Ernaux. It surrounds the life of Anne a young french student who watches her life change in various ways when she becomes pregnant. She sees the life she wants disappearing and is determined to act even if it means risking prison.
All films are subtitled in English.
