This summer I had an opportunity to spend time with a group of women in transitional care. I suppose you could call them immigrants. They were not from St. Cloud but had traveled here to find refuge. This compilation of snapshots is the result of a grant that brought a series of craft classes to Anna Marie’s, a place where women on the run from domestic violence can hide in safety and general comfort. The goal was to engage the women in craft activities with the hope that their troubles might soften for an hour or so through art and that they’d learn a new skill that they were capable to complete by themselves.
This activity is made possible through a grant from the Central Minnesota Arts Board, thanks to funds provided by the McKnight Foundation.
This event is free and open to the public.
