Cyrille Aimée

Cyrille Aimée

Presented by CSB/SJU Fine Arts Series at CSB Benedicta Arts Center - Gorecki FamilyTheater

Cyrille Aimée is heralded as one of the most promising jazz singers of her generation. Raised in the French village of Samois sur Seine, she cut her teeth on the musical legacy of Django Reinhardt. Every June, gypsy caravans set up encampments in nearby meadows for the annual Django Reinhardt Festival and young Cyrille fell in love with their way of life, their language and, most of all, their music.
Cyrille mastered the art of improvisation while studying at the conservatory of jazz at SUNY Purchase and was a finalist for the prestigious Thelonious Monk Vocal Competition in 2010. She performs regularly in the historic, iconic jazz clubs of NYC and tours the world to critical acclaim.
Cyrille is a star on the rise – don’t miss your chance to see her perform in the intimate setting of the Gorecki Family Theater.
