Black Violin

Black Violin

Presented by CSB/SJU Fine Arts Series at SJU - Stephen B. Humphrey Theater

With style and swagger, Black Violin smashes musical stereotypes and captivates lovers of both Bach and Beyoncé. Black Violin breaks all the rules, blending the classical with the modern to create something rare – a fresh fusion of classical, hip-hop, blues and R&B.
Wil B and Kev Marcus are two classically trained violinists who worked as ‘studio rats’ in the hip-hop studios of South Florida. This fortuitous combination lead to their groundbreaking collaboration, which has earned them national attention. In 2013, they were named one of the Top Five New Bands at the prestigious and forward-thinking South by Southwest (SXSW) Music and Media Conference.
