John Scalia grew up in Louisiana where his deep roots in music formed. His mother was the local church pianist and from the age of 5, John has been entertaining all of those around him. John has toured with several bands all over the US & Canada and landed in North Dakota in 1998, playing with the Dirty Word Band. He later crossed paths with the Johnny Holm Band and officially joined Johnny in 2005. John later revived Dirty Word Band, and went on to play shows all over the globe, including for the U.S. Military bases in Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, and other “non disclosed locations” in Southwest Asia. He recently hitched his wagon to The Fabulous Armadillos, where he now is part of many of their presentations. John lives with his wife, and French bulldog, Maggie, in St. Paul, MN where he enjoys writing and recording at his home studio, and making videos as his alter ego, John Carlo and his soon to be world renowned “John Carlo’s Creole Minute” Youtube videos.race.

There is metered street parking and metered lots near our location on 5th Ave, and next to House of Pizza restaurant. Meters are monitored until 6pm Mon-Fri and FREE on Sat and Sun. There are also two Parking Ramps: one connected to the Courtyard by Marriott and also one across the street behind Herberger’s Department Store. Click here for an arial map of the area. You can find hours and rates for each parking ramp in the downtown area by clicking HERE.

**PARKING UPDATE** There is NO PARKING on either side of 5th Avenue between West St. Germain and 1st Street S AFTER 8pm on Thursday’s, Friday’s and Saturday’s. This is a new rule so watch for signage. Most vehicles are towed promptly at 8pm. Please be aware and if you have questions, ask a bartender for more information.
