The Legacy Foundation of Big Lake is a 501(c)3 non-profit (pending) that was established early 2013. The Legacy Foundation is comprised of various community members and believes that relationships are the foundation of a strong community. Some of the Foundation’s initiatives are as follows:

– Music in the Park concert series (Thursdays in June / July / August 2013)
– Walking History tour of Big Lake
– City Hall mini Museum
– Christmas tree lighting ceremony (December 2, 2013 at 6:30pm behind Big Lake City Hall)
– Christmas with "The Blenders" (December 8, 2013 at 4:00pm at Big Lake High School)
