Built in 1936, the Montgomery Theater retains its original charm, while renovations and upgrades over the years have resulted in a modern performance venue. Featuring full production capabilities, it offers a variety of theater, musical and cultural entertainment throughout the year. It can accomodate up to 536 patrons and includes areas set aside for wheelchair seating.

Located across the street from the Convention Center in the same building as the City National Civic, the Montgomery Theater receives some use as a convention facility.  In addition, it is the primary performance venue of both CMTsj and Lyric Theatre of San Jose.
