Special Children’s Reception with book reading and art activity!
This exhibition highlights both Chris Monroe’s original picture book illustrations, and her evocative oil pastel drawings. Monroe’s gouache and ink “Monkey With A Tool Belt,” “Big Little Brother”, “Cookie The Walker” and other characters, come to life in their vibrant original form. Her personal work inhabits the spaces of memory, humor, and place, and creates a dynamic counterpoint to the imaginary landscapes of the children’s books.
