Anne of Green Gables is a 1908 novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery that follows the adventures of Anne Shirley, an 11-year-old orphan girl. The story is about Anne’s life from adolescence through young adulthood, as she makes friends, finds her place in the world, and grows up. The 2024 performance coincide with the 150th anniversary of Montgomery’s birth.
