Chris Smither

“[He] taps his foot to keep the rhythm, much like the late blues legend John Lee Hooker. His finger-picked guitar lines are sleek, unhurried and insistent. And then there’s the voice–equal parts gravel and molasses.” –National Public Radio

Main Series
Chris Smither has been crisscrossing the nation–and the globe–with his blues-soaked
tunes for longer than we’ve been booking musicians. In the early 1970s, Bonnie Raitt
recorded his composition, “Love Me Like a Man,” as a favorite and adopted as a concert standard. Three decades later Diana Krall recorded it as well. He has worked with B.B. King, Nanci Griffith, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Dave Alvin, and Tom Russell, among others.
