Students will be preparing music that demonstrate continuity using conversations between instrumental sections in the ensemble, the director, and CMYO student soloists within an ensemble.
CMYO will be closing the Fifth Season next weekend at St. John’s University in The Great Hall.
This year’s season theme is “In the Spirit of Unity”. Up until now, the focus has been CMYO’s Journey (Fall) and Empowered (Mark Wood EYS). This Spring, our focus is on Continuity.
Each of the ensembles will be performing at least one piece without conductor. Encore ensemble will have five students soloing without conductor on the Double Violin Concerto in d minor by J.S. Bach.
